Always good to circle back

  I thought I would use this weeks post to circle back and attempt to focus on why I started this blog and why I focus primarily on personal decisions.  Also unlike most posts I am pretty much doing this without an outline or previous notes.  This is just me expressing some random thoughts on previous posts and observations.  I guess the most important element of this, is answering the question: "What have I learned?".  I think retirement is an intellectual fork in the road.  One path leads to day time TV and reality shows and the other can lead to unbounded cerebral  stimulation.  These are obvious ridiculous extremes.  I cannot think of a friend or colleague who has wandered down either of these excessive paths.  I did make an intentional decision to begin writing and an on line blog seemed to be the easiest way to begin.  The tools available were widely available and free to use. Medical decisions

  A while back I wrote a post  Back to the beginning, We all bring something to the table .  Lately I have trying to apply some of these tactics to a series of medical decisions that I have had to make.  These decisions address a series of chronic conditions that I deal with.  Some of these conditions I have been dealing with for decades and some are more recent.  The basic issue that has come to light is due to the following circumstances: Multitude of doctor visits Different unrelated conditions Unknown relations between conditions Overload of information or information no layman can easily understand Multiple medications prescribed by different physicians All of this has lead to a very unsettling situation.  Most unsettling is what to do next to improve my health.  What decisions and outcomes do I focus on to improve my health situation.  Before this evolves into a personal pity party I am not much different than anybody in their early 60'...
