ChatGPT:
Gut instincts are often referred to as that inner voice or feeling that guides us in our decision making. They are an important aspect of the human experience and can play a significant role in determining the outcomes of our choices. Despite their importance, gut instincts are often overlooked or dismissed in favor of more analytical and rational approaches to decision making.

This started me thinking about technology and how it is used to make decisions, especially current technology.  Decision making predominantly relies on technology to provide the requisite information.  Technology also helps us analyze the information making it easier to understand.  Technology can also help us assess and validate our decisions.
Any kind of decision requires information.  With current technology the biggest issue is too much information.  Just google a topic and you get several pages of links to sources of information.  It would take quite a while to sift through it all.  I do what most do,  look at the familiar sources.  Like most I rarely scroll past the first google page.  Along with google books online can be excellent sources of information as well.
As for analysis, have you ever put data into a spreadsheet?  Add data and then create a formula.  Then do a bunch of scenarios.  If the stock market increases by 20% I can retire at 50 LOL!  Spreadsheets have been revolutionary in helping us analyze data.
AI however purports to make the decisions for us.  In some ways it can.  AI can scan an unimaginable number of online sources to garner a solution.  I asked chatGPT "When is a good time to retire?"  The reply was understandably open ended.  It told me to consult a financial advisor.  So I asked it "How much money do I need to retire at 62?".  Again, the reply was somewhat open ended but with a few more details.  It gave me a bullet list of costs to consider and a rule of thumb citing 80% of the pre retirement income.  So I asked the same question with income details; "how much money should I have to retire at 62 if my income is $100000?".  I then added the detail of planning to live 20 years and my estimated social security.  The result was quite detailed.
Pretty soon I am going to discover that ChatGPT has more personality than me!!!!!!
